A few weeks ago many from our congregation were privileged to be part of the Mennonite Church Canada Assembly which was held at Ambrose College from June 30 to July 2nd. Many volunteers from foothills helped to coordinate and host the Assembly. From the volunteer coordination to registration to transportation and many other things, long hours where put in to make this Assembly a great experience for all who came to Calgary form across Canada. Our Pastor Doug Klassen was one of the main Sessions speakers, you can listen to his Sermon here. Gareth Brandt was the speaker for the opening night session, his sermon is here.

On wednesday evening people were invited to take a stone from the name of Jesus as our response to Reclaiming the Name of Jesus. There is much more about the Assembly on the Mennonite Church Canada Web site; photos, sermons, and resolutions passed. Click here to check out more...

Our hope for this resource is for Mennonite churches in Calgary to join their voices and hearts in worshiping God who brings forth great diversity in the beauty of creation and calls us to celebrate it. As we recall that all of God's created children are loved equally, no matter the differences between us, we hope to be inspired to be lights in our communities, not allowing hatred based on race, religion, or culture to take root.
Here is a Ribbon which everyone will receive to wear
