Senior Pastor – Doug Klassen
Doug has a passion for effective preaching and leading the church to be participate in God’s Mission in the world.
Doug was born in Vineland, Ontario. He married Rose Retzlaff during his time studying at Canadian Mennonite Bible College in Winnipeg. Doug and Rose took their first pastoral assignment in St. Catharines, ON. From there they moved to Winnipeg to serve a local church and work in the area of Young Adult Ministries with the Manitoba conference. In 1998, the family answered a call to come to Foothills, where Doug has been the Senior Pastor since the year 2000. The Klassen family lives in N.W. Calgary, not far from the church and not far from the ranch where they go to spend time with their horses.
Associate Pastor – Chad Miller
Chad gives leadership to the Youth Ministry at Foothills as well as serving in a wide array of other areas.
Chad, his wife June and their two children Mackenzie and Hudson, moved from Ohio to join our congregation in March 2009. They are excited to be a part of the Foothills Community. Previously Chad had served as a Youth Pastor and a Pastor of worship arts at Hartville Mennonite Church in Ohio.
Pastoral Assistant (Visitations) – Erwin Strempler
Erwin visits those who, due to age or illness, have trouble regularly attending church and church events. A number of volunteers assist him in these duties.
Community Life Coordinator – Charlotte Mikalson
Charlotte works to make Foothills Mennonite a warm, welcoming community where all have a place and know they are an integral part of the larger body. She loves meeting new people, helping them connect with others in the church, and making them feel welcome.
